Beginner Guide to Fishing

Many anglers fishing for trout at the toc. It is often used banally, but some specialists fishermen push the technical degree high. In this article, I’ll introduce the basics of fishing to OCD in trying to help the beginner get started.

Rod and Reel

Material: rod and reel

The cane will be long, usually 3 m to 4 m 20 50. It will be conditioned by the size of the stream you want to fish, or at least median of rivers that you can fish the size. A length of 3 m 90 is a good compromise for medium-sized rivers.

You can buy English (with rings) or inner wire. The second option is of interest only for very specific cases of very crowded places. She has the big drawback to hinder the glide of the wire, especially in the lower models range or after some time of use.

We therefore prefer the cannes English most of the time. Here too it is important to inquire about the quantity and quality of the rings. Nothing is worse that a thread that glues and mind during fishing.

Different actions are available (parabolic to fast). If you often need to run and far, a flexible model will bring comfort, then only a stiff Rod will detect the slightest touch in the small Court of water.

We’re talking little power for this practice. Indeed, it will often conditioned by the type of use of the cane. For example: a stick of 4 m 20, semi parabolic, will be quite powerful as intended to fish more deep, so more leaden and larger fish. Garbolino is unquestionably the market leader. But there are other brands of quality such as Pezon and Michel, Mitchell or Daiwa. Gentlemen Delacoste and Sempé also offer very good models.

There are different types of reels for fishing:

  • The classic, spinning or rotating drum works but is quite bulky.
  • Reels awesome, which I must admit, are not part of my favorites, as are often cause of tangles.
  • Reels special knock, which as their name implies are all adapted to the practice. They are rotating drum, simple construction, with a sensitive and easily adjustable brake and light and a small footprint. There also Garbolino holds the top of the poster, but Ritma remains an excellent reliability.

Small equipment

The main line will be 15 to 25th according to the fishing location and the bottom of nylon line or fluorocarbon of 8 to 15 th, under the terms and size of the target fish nylon. Obviously we’ll look for models with a high strength/diameter ratio and possessing a slipperiness of quality.

You must have a fairly complete box of weights ranging from No. 3 to no. 9, guides coloured threads more or less fluorescent according to your preferences and hooks to range of all sizes (No. 16 to no. 6 are a good target) and different forms in order to escher different baits. Choose the partisans and enough end of railway to have a good spice.

The editing and the leaded

First slide the guide wire on the main line. Then we just connect the bottom line to the main line using a knot double albright or a very light swivel. The length of the bottom line depends on the depth that you fish. It must be about the same size. You then read the hook at the bottom line.

Now comes the most important: the weight! There are so many situation and school it is difficult to give advice inevitable. Below so advice of bases rather than assertions. There are 3 main criteria: degressivity, the total mass of the leaded and sprawl of the leaded.

In any theory, for a presentation of the line in order to fish (bait – light weights to heavy), your line must consist of countdown. That the closest lead of the hook must be the lightest of your weight. More emphasis also increased the distance between them towards the lighter lead also.

The total mass of your weight is dictated by the depth and the strength of the current. The principle is to quickly reach the bottom of the watercourse to fish the desired position without the line remains blocked in the substrate and it derives from the most natural way possible. That is why it must be as light as possible. This usually comes with practice.

Sprawl of the finally brought leaded line sooner or later to sink and stay close to the bottom.

To give some examples, in fishing in torrents of mountain with a water level means, I’ll use this Assembly in order to fish quiet positions away from the rocks:

For an average sized River plain, with a level of the beginning of low waters my weight will be much more averaged to offer long natural derivatives:

Bait

Choose a bait depending on the season. The worms remains a classic effective year-round. Use the biggest early season when the wines are here and fish hungry, while its size will reduce with the low water level. The natural flies, nymphs, and other larvae will be very effective on the fine fishing in the summer. Ringworm is not part of my favorite bait, but they must recognize that fitness trout love them and that they can give surprising results.

Fishing Bait

The fishing technique

Except if you bait to the worm, which is forbidden in most places today, you can fish going upstream. It is important not to rush to fishing at the toc. Each post or almost is fishable with this technique.

Depending on the season, trout will be placed at different locations in the river. We’ll find them in the juice in the summer to take advantage of the oxygen they bring, they will be more posted the rest of the season (whirlpool formed by a rock, coves, waterfalls… etc) and squarely in the areas protected during floods. The key to your success will be to identify or they are (and sometimes what they eat).

You must then address positions as discreetly as possible. We can fish leaving derive his bait through the current in a natural way or force him to stay on specific positions. This will be dictated by the positioning of the fish and helped by the weight.

If this article made you want to get going, I can only strongly advise you to buy one of this excellent books on the market.
